Ross Oliver & The Big Cat Sanctuary Partnership
We are overwhelmed at the opportunity to officially announce our partner with the Big Cat Sanctuary for our AW20 collection. We’ve long been supports of their work, especially after watching the Maya documentary on the BBC, which incidentally was what inspired this whole collection.
As part of our partnership with the Big Cat Sanctuary we have created a collection of Autumn/Winter boots inspired by 5 cats they have homed; Maya, Nias, Willow, Laila and Kafara, that will be available to order from Monday 2nd November. The boots are made here in the UK using traditional British boot making techniques, and with a unique feature of fur from each big cat (faux of course). They come in 5 different colours, reflecting the natural colours of the cat that boot represents.
To us, the important element to the designs are the fur accents, which was something we were adamant to include. It’s because unfortunately the beauty of big cat fur plays a huge part to why these incredible animals are declining in population. That’s why we wanted to partner with the Big Cat Sanctuary for this collection, we are all very passionate change focused, conscious people here at Ross Oliver, and our hopes are for these designs to stand as a message and raise awareness for animal conservation work, and encourage consumerism to be about supporting those individuals and charities working on creating change or preserving wildlife. #fashionforchange
Which is why we will be donating 20% of total sales from this collection to the Big Cat Sanctuary, so their valuable work continues. It’s a journey we as a young British brand are exited to take, but we’re even more excited to see the impact the support from this collection has on the future of the Sanctuary.
