There’s a certain kind of satisfaction in revisiting a classic. The Pembroke Tassel Loafer, our quietly confident loafer, now reimagined for a new season, stands as an emblem of what we believe defines true style: subtle refinement, enduring form, with modern material innovations.
The origins of the tassel loafer trace back to post-war America, where its sleek, slip-on silhouette quickly found favour among Ivy League students in the 1950s. Elegant but informal, it became a staple of collegiate dress: a symbol of understated affluence and intellectual cool. Decades later, its appeal has only deepened.
For us, the Pembroke represents more than just a nod to tradition. It’s part of our ongoing conversation between heritage and innovation. Rooted firmly in British shoemaking and handcrafted in Northamptonshire by skilled artisans, this loafer carries with it the weight of legacy, balanced by our commitment to modern materials and thoughtful design.
Each pair is made slowly, deliberately. This is the nature of true craftsmanship: there are no shortcuts. From sketch to final sample, the process of developing a new collection is rarely swift (and we thank our customers for their patience) but always worth the wait. The Pembroke, our latest addition features an updated fit, all built on our house last, with comfort and longevity at the forefront.
